In this permanent full-time position, you will be part of the Park Friends programs team whose role is to identify opportunities to establish and maintain partnerships between NGOs working for a park, partners from civil society and governments, and different stakeholders to promote urban parks as essential spaces to connect people with each other and with nature.

The incumbent will work on a portfolio of the organization's programs including that of Parcs Cœur Vital, partnerships and research projects, including the Report on Canada's Urban Parks, and will be responsible for relations with public authorities. . As new partnerships are established and opportunities emerge, these tasks will change over time.

We are looking for someone with experience building relationships, a knack for collaboratively developing a vision, and experience managing scope and budgets for large-scale projects. national scale.

As research and partnerships manager, your role will include:

  • Designing and managing programs that respond to the organization's mission, strategic plan and theory of change, including the Vital Heart Parks program, research activities and projects in partnership with different levels of government.
  • Coordinate research activities, partnerships and impact measurement activities as part of a coherent strategy to support impactful programs.
  • Manage the budget and operational plan of the program portfolio.
  • Foster has a positive team spirit based on collaboration, accountability, support, continuous learning and efficient processes.
  • Identify new partnership opportunities with other NGOs working for a park and maintain collaborative relationships with other key stakeholders and civil society partners.
  • Take into account the organization's anti-racism framework and its theory of change when designing, implementing and evaluating projects.
  • Supervises a small team of project managers and program coordinators.
  • Take an equity-based approach to relationship building.
  • Other tasks as needed. 

 

Skills and experience required for this position:

  • Proven experience in program/project management, preferably within multi-sector partnerships and/or nationally.
  • Strong team leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong budget management skills and experience in fundraising, including writing proposals and reports, defining the scope of a project and managing a work plan.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in writing and public written and oral presentations.
  • Good knowledge of research methods and ethics. 
  • Experience in a complex, growing and changing work environment.
  • Knowledge of and interest in anti-racist community building, the urban parks movement, and co-creation of public spaces.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; efficiency in managing multiple priorities and deliverables within competing deadlines;
  • Ability to understand and translate the needs and priorities of the team and the organization.
  • Fluency in French and English is a major asset. Please indicate if you are bilingual in your application.

 

Work Location: We encourage applications from all regions of Canada, with preference for applications from Montreal, Toronto or Vancouver. This is a telecommuting position with occasional requirements to report in person to Toronto, Montreal and/or Vancouver.

Starting compensation: $62,000 to $70,000.
